Client engagement, easy access to services, positive clinical outcomes and value-based services are paramount to providing the most effective services to our consumers. Services are provided utilizing a system of care framework that is comprehensive, strength-based, client-centered, family-focused and co-occurring capable.
Most services use Integrated Clinical Teams (ICTs). These teams are comprised of clinicians from Counseling, Social Work, Substance Use, and Psychiatric Services. They collaborate to ensure the necessary service(s) are provided to meet the client’s identified needs.
Our region has utilized the services at Capital Area Counseling since 1968. Capital Area Counseling is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation established to meet the mental health and addiction needs in Central South Dakota. CACS serves the nine counties of Hughes, Stanley, Haakon, Jones, Lyman, Buffalo, Hyde, Sully and Potter.
Pierre is the South Dakota state capital with a population of 14,000. As the second smallest state capital in the US, Pierre has a small town feel with a huge sense of community. Conveniently located on the beautiful Missouri River, Pierre is home to an abundance of outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, and over 50 miles of trails and pathways! You can also find plenty of entertainment such as museums, theaters, and local businesses.
