Teen Court
Teen Court is the Court-approved juvenile diversion program for the 6th Judicial Circuit. It is offered to eligible juvenile offenders, ages 10 to 18, who are currently enrolled in an accredited school program. Members of Teen Court (attorneys, jury, bailiff and clerk) are trained teen volunteers and returning defendants. They work to create a legal and binding sentence for the juvenile defendant based on the principles of Restorative Justice. Teen Court is a voluntary diversion program. It can only be implemented with the consent of the parent(s)/ guardian(s) (or in their absence another custodian, such as Grandparent, etc.) and the juvenile. The juvenile and their parent(s)/guardian(s) must agree upon the essential facts of the alleged law violation in order to participate in the program.
